The multiannual financial framework of the European Union is the long-term budget of the EU, established for the period of at least five years, usually seven. It sets the total spending of the European Union and includes information about the expenses, financial projects and distribution of funds for different activities, in line with the priorities of the EU. The next multiannual framework, currently negotiated, will cover the period from 2021 to 2027 and it will contain also the funds for the Erasmus+ Program. According to the information published by the European Commission, on 30 May 2020 the Commission adopted its proposal to double the Erasmus programme budget which will reach 30 billion euros in the upcoming period¹.
Accreditation Erasmus+ for the period 2021-2027
In light of the upcoming multiannual framework, the European Union has launched the invitation to apply for the Erasmus accreditation for the Erasmus Programme 2021-2027. Erasmus accreditation is a tool for education and training organisations active in adult education, vocational education and training (VET), and schools of all levels, which would like to start a cross-border exchange and cooperation². The accreditation allows the organizations to participate in the future Key Action 1 projects, which include the international mobility of VET students, staff, adult learners and students in long-term mobility for study. The accreditation is a new element for schools and adult education organizations; it has already been requested for higher education as well as vocational education and training (VET) institutions.
The accreditation only needs to be done once and allows to apply for fundings during the whole period of Erasmus+ 2021-2027. Every organization that wishes to apply must prepare an Erasmus plan which includes their long-term strategy. Moreover, the institutions have to adhere to the Erasmus quality standards, an integral part of the accreditation, which ensure good quality of the future mobilities³.
Activities foreseen in the program include mobility for vocational training and traineeship, mobility of school students (group or individual) as well as mobility of teachers, trainers and staff for the professional development. The institutions have also the possibility to receive the accreditation for more sectors and should apply separately for each one of them.
The accreditations are managed by the national agencies in each country. More information can be found on the website https://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/calls/2020-erasmus-accreditation
All applications must be presented by 29 October 2020 at 12.00
